About The Position

As a Security Officer - Unarmed Transit Patrol Overnights in Spokane, WA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. As an unarmed Patrol Officer at a government transit location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, complete routine rounds, and remain highly visible to help discourage security-related incidents. You will respond to alarms and requests for assistance, document activities, and communicate clearly with riders, staff, and partners while delivering customer service with professionalism. Requirements

  • Have at least 1 year of security-related experience.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • CPR and/or First Aid certification is preferred.
  • Ability to lift up to 20 pounds is preferred.
  • Alarm panel experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service by carrying out security-related procedures, location-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities within a government transit environment.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of transit facilities, platforms, parking areas, and perimeter locations to help to deter unwanted activity and/or identify hazards or maintenance concerns for follow-up.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, providing assistance to riders and staff and/or requesting additional resources when needed.
  • Monitor access points and public areas, observe and document unusual activity, and communicate clearly with location personnel and/or public responders as appropriate.
  • Prepare complete and accurate reports of daily activities, incidents, and observations, including use of required logs and/or reporting systems.
