About The Position

As a Security Officer - Unarmed Shelter Patrols in Brooklyn, NY , you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Shelter, and more. As an unarmed patrol officer with Allied Universal, you will monitor and patrol designated shelter locations, helping to deter security-related incidents while providing a visible presence. You will conduct routine patrols, support access control, and deliver outstanding customer service and communication. Requirements

Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

Possession of a state, county, or city issued security license is preferred.
CPR and First Aid certification is preferred.
Experience with access control and badge systems is preferred.

Responsibilities

Provide customer service to clients by carrying out security-related procedures, following site-specific policies, and responding to emergencies as appropriate.
Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, maintaining a professional presence at all times.
Conduct regular and random patrols around the shelter and its perimeter to help to deter unwanted activity and promote a secure environment for residents and staff.
Observe and report any unusual activity or incidents in a timely manner, following established protocols.
Work closely with shelter staff and residents to address concerns and support a welcoming environment.
Assist with access control and monitor entry and exit points as required by site-specific procedures.
Complete required documentation and incident reports accurately and promptly.
