About The Position

As a Security Officer - Unarmed Shelter Patrols in Brooklyn, NY , you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Shelter, and more. As an unarmed patrol officer with Allied Universal, you will monitor and patrol designated shelter locations, helping to deter security-related incidents while providing a visible presence. You will conduct routine patrols, support access control, and deliver outstanding customer service and communication. Requirements

  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • Possession of a state, county, or city issued security license is preferred.
  • CPR and First Aid certification is preferred.
  • Experience with access control and badge systems is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to clients by carrying out security-related procedures, following site-specific policies, and responding to emergencies as appropriate.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, maintaining a professional presence at all times.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols around the shelter and its perimeter to help to deter unwanted activity and promote a secure environment for residents and staff.
  • Observe and report any unusual activity or incidents in a timely manner, following established protocols.
  • Work closely with shelter staff and residents to address concerns and support a welcoming environment.
  • Assist with access control and monitor entry and exit points as required by site-specific procedures.
  • Complete required documentation and incident reports accurately and promptly.
