Learn more: aus.com/earnmore. As a Patrol Unarmed Officer with Allied Universal, you will help to deter security-related incidents by monitoring and patrolling the shelter location. Your presence and attention to detail contribute to creating a welcoming environment for all. You will interact with residents and staff, provide exceptional customer service, and respond to situations as they arise, all while embodying our values of teamwork, integrity, and putting people first.

Requirements

  • At least one year of security-related experience is required.
  • Proof of high school diploma or GED is required.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • CPR and/or First Aid certification is preferred.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to clients by carrying out security-related procedures, following site-specific policies, and performing emergency response activities when appropriate.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols around the shelter location and its perimeter, adapting to varying working environments and conditions as required by the site.
  • Help to deter unwanted activity through a visible presence and proactive engagement.
  • Document and report any unusual incidents or security-related concerns according to Allied Universal protocols.
  • Assist shelter staff and visitors with questions and directions as needed, while maintaining a professional demeanor.
  • Collaborate with other Allied Universal personnel and shelter staff to support a secure environment.
