About The Position

As a Security Officer - Unarmed Shelter Night Watch in Brooklyn, NY , you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Shelter, and more. As a Patrol Unarmed Officer with Allied Universal, you will monitor and patrol assigned shelter locations, helping to deter security-related incidents and fostering a welcoming environment. You will conduct routine patrols, remain visible to support a sense of comfort for residents, and provide outstanding customer service and communication. Requirements

CPR and First Aid certification is preferred.
A state, county, or city issued security license is preferred.
Access control or badge experience is preferred.
Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

Provide customer service to clients by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner.
Conduct regular and random patrols around the shelter and its perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and identify potential issues.
Observe and report any unusual activities or conditions within the location to the appropriate personnel.
Assist residents, visitors, and staff with questions or requests while maintaining a professional and approachable presence.
Support access control procedures by monitoring entrances and exits as required by site policies.
Document all incidents, observations, and actions taken during shifts in accordance with Allied Universal protocols.
Collaborate with shelter staff and/or emergency responders when necessary to address incidents or emergencies within the location.
