As an unarmed Patrol Officer at a higher education location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, complete routine rounds, and remain visible to help to deter security-related incidents. You will support students, faculty, staff, and visitors with professional customer service and clear communication while reporting observations and responding to needs on site. Position Type: Part Time Pay Rate: $16.64 / Hour Job Schedule: Day Time Thur 02:30 PM - 10:00 PM Sun 02:30 PM - 10:00 PM

Requirements

• A minimum of 1 year of security experience is required.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

• Customer service experience is preferred.
• A state, county, or city issued security license is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to students, faculty, staff, and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at an educational location.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including calls for assistance, disturbances, and alarm activations.
• Conduct regular and random foot and/or vehicle patrols of campus buildings, common areas, parking areas, and perimeter to help to deter unwanted activity and identify hazards or maintenance issues.
• Monitor access points and perform access control duties as assigned, including verifying identification and/or authorization, directing visitors, and documenting entries as required.
• Complete detailed reports and logs, communicate observations to site leadership and/or law enforcement when needed, and assist with crowd flow, special events, and traffic control as assigned.
