As an Unarmed Patrol Officer in a retail and mall location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, conduct routine rounds, and stay highly visible to help to deter security-related incidents. You will support store teams and guests with strong customer service, clear communication, and quick reporting of concerns. Requirements
- A guard card/license is preferred.
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
Responsibilities
- Provide customer service to tenants, shoppers, and staff by carrying out security-related procedures, location-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
- Conduct regular and random foot patrols throughout the retail property, including common areas, storefront corridors, and exterior perimeter, with working conditions that may vary by location.
- Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including suspicious activity, disturbances, and medical situations, and request additional assistance when needed.
- Monitor and report security-related conditions such as unsecured doors, loitering, blocked exits, and property damage, and complete detailed activity and incident reports.
- Support loss prevention and access control efforts by observing for policy violations, assisting with crowd management during peak periods and/or special events, and documenting relevant activity.
