Job Description As a Security Officer - Unarmed Patrol with Tablet in Columbus, OH , you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. As an unarmed Patrol Officer at a government aviation location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, conduct routine rounds, maintain a visible presence that helps to deter security-related incidents, and support access control while assisting travelers and staff. You will communicate clearly, document observations, and work as part of a team that lives Allied Universal values of being agile, reliable, and innovative, with a caring culture and integrity in every interaction.

Requirements

  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • Customer Service Experience is preferred.
  • Access Control/Badge Experience is preferred.
  • Comfortable Using Computer or Tablet is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to visitors, employees, and/or contractors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a government transportation location.
  • Conduct regular and random foot and/or vehicle patrols of terminals, parking areas, roadways, and perimeter points, noting unusual activity, unsecured doors, and/or restricted-area concerns that may help to deter unwanted activity.
  • Monitor access points and assist with credential and/or visitor verification in accordance with post orders, directing individuals to appropriate checkpoints and escalating concerns through the chain of command.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, coordinating with operations staff and/or local public agencies as needed.
  • Document patrols, incidents, and observations in written logs and reports, communicating timely information to onsite leadership and/or Allied Universal management.
