About The Position

As a Security Officer - Unarmed Patrol Specialist in Piscataway, NJ, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Tech/Media/Telecom, and more. Requirements

  • Have a minimum of 2 years of security-related experience.
  • Provide proof of a high school diploma or GED as required by the client.
  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • A state, county, or city issued security license is preferred.
  • Alarm panel experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to employees, contractors, and/or visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a technology location.
  • Conduct regular and random foot and/or vehicle patrols of interior and exterior areas including entrances, corridors, loading areas, and perimeter points to help to deter unauthorized activity and/or hazards.
  • Monitor access points and verify authorization for entry, assist with visitor check-in processes, and/or direct individuals to the appropriate location per site procedures.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including documenting observations, notifying site contacts and/or Allied Universal leadership, and coordinating with local responders as needed.
  • Complete required reports such as patrol logs, incident reports, and shift activity reports, and communicate relevant information during shift transitions.
