About The Position

As a Security Officer - Unarmed Patrol Route in Durham, NC, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Healthcare, and more. As an unarmed Patrol Officer in a healthcare location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, conduct routine rounds, and maintain a visible presence that may help to deter security-related incidents. You will assist staff, patients, and visitors with clear communication and a service-first approach, while documenting observations using a computer or tablet as needed. Requirements

• Be at least 21 years of age.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to staff, patients, and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities within a healthcare location.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including medical emergencies, disruptive behavior, and fire or alarm activations, and communicate updates to site leadership and/or public responders as needed.
• Conduct regular and random patrols throughout buildings, corridors, parking areas, and the perimeter to help to deter unwanted activity and identify hazards, unsecured doors, or unusual conditions. Working environments and conditions may vary by site.
• Monitor access points and common areas, help to manage visitor flow, and assist with badge checks and/or controlled entry procedures while maintaining privacy and professionalism.
• Complete detailed incident reports, activity logs, and patrol documentation, and report maintenance or operational issues through the appropriate channels.
