About The Position
As a Security Officer - Unarmed Patrol Route in Van Nuys, CA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Aero/Defense, and more. As an Unarmed Patrol Officer at an aerospace and defense location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, conduct routine rounds, and stay highly visible to help reduce security-related incidents. You will document observations, support access control procedures, and communicate clearly with staff and visitors while delivering standout customer service. Requirements
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
Responsibilities
- Provide customer service to site personnel and visitors by following security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and/or emergency response activities at an aerospace and defense location.
- Control access at entry points by verifying identification and authorization, issuing visitor credentials as directed, and documenting entries, exits, and deliveries per site requirements.
- Conduct regular and random patrols of buildings, production or office areas, and perimeter locations to help to deter unauthorized activity and/or identify security-related concerns.
- Monitor and respond to alarms, cameras, radios, and/or access control notifications, and communicate observations to site contacts and Allied Universal supervision.
- Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, complete detailed reports, and support evacuation, medical, and/or other emergency procedures as directed.
