About The Position

As a Security Officer - Unarmed Patrol Route Driver in Jacksonville, FL, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. As an Unarmed Patrol Officer at a busy government port location, you will conduct routine vehicle and foot patrols, stay visible to help reduce security-related incidents, and support access points and operations with clear communication and customer service. This is a driving post, so you will use a company or site vehicle to move between checkpoints and respond to calls for assistance. Requirements

  • A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
  • A TSA issued TWIC is required.
  • Proof of a high school diploma and/or GED is required.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • The ability to lift up to 20 pounds is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to site personnel and visitors by following security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a government port location.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of terminals, administrative areas, roadways, parking areas, and perimeter zones to help to deter unauthorized activity and/or identify unusual conditions.
  • Monitor access points and vehicle and/or pedestrian traffic flow, verifying authorization as required and directing individuals to the appropriate location.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including reporting hazards, suspicious activity, and/or policy violations to the appropriate contacts.
  • Complete security-related reports and daily activity logs, document incidents accurately, and communicate relevant updates to Allied Universal supervision and site leadership.
