As an unarmed Patrol Officer with Allied Universal at a government corrections location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, stay highly visible to help discourage security-related incidents, and support orderly operations. You will complete routine rounds, control access points, respond to calls for service, and document observations using clear communication. Guided by our agile, reliable, and innovative approach, you will deliver through teamwork and act with integrity while assisting staff and visitors.

Requirements

  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • Access Control/Badge Experience is preferred.
  • CPR Certification is preferred.
  • Comfortable Using Computer or Tablet is preferred.
  • Customer Service Experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to site staff and visitors by following Allied Universal post orders, security-related procedures, and site-specific policies within a government location.
  • Conduct regular and random foot patrols of assigned buildings, grounds, parking areas, and perimeter points to help to deter unauthorized activity and/or policy violations.
  • Monitor access control points, verify identification and/or credentials as directed, and assist with visitor processing, directions, and general questions.
  • Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including contacting site representatives and/or emergency services as required by post orders.
  • Complete detailed shift activity reports and incident reports, document unusual occurrences, and communicate relevant information during post and shift transitions.
