Job Description As a Security Officer - Unarmed Patrol Response Team in New York, NY , you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Shelter, and more. As an Unarmed Patrol Officer at a shelter location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, complete routine rounds, and remain highly visible to help reduce security-related incidents. You will respond to calls for assistance, document observations, and communicate clearly with staff and visitors while providing strong customer service. Requirements

  • Possess a New York State Security Guard License.
  • Have 1 or more years of security-related experience.
  • Client requires proof of a high school diploma or GED.
  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • CPR and/or First Aid is preferred and may be completed post hire.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to residents, staff, visitors and/or vendors by following site-specific procedures, access control requirements and security-related protocols at a shelter location.
  • Respond to incidents, resident concerns and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, coordinating with site management and/or emergency services as directed.
  • Conduct regular and random foot patrols of common areas, entrances, stairwells, exterior perimeter and other assigned areas, noting conditions that may help to deter unwanted activity.
  • Monitor doors, gates, cameras and/or alarm systems as assigned, verifying authorized entry and reporting suspicious or unusual activity to the appropriate contacts.
  • Complete timely reports such as shift logs, incident reports and patrol documentation, and communicate relevant updates during post transitions.
