As a Security Officer - Unarmed Patrol Education in Philadelphia, PA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Education, and more. As a Patrol Unarmed Security Officer with Allied Universal at an educational location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, helping to deter security-related incidents and creating a welcoming environment for students, staff, and visitors. You will conduct routine patrols on foot and/or by bike, remain highly visible, and deliver exceptional customer service through proactive communication. Requirements

Applicants must be at least 21 years of age.
Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

Access control and/or badge experience is preferred.
Ability to ride a bike for long periods of time is preferred.
Ability to lift more than 20 pounds is preferred.

Responsibilities

Provide customer service to clients, faculty, students, and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities within an educational environment.
Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, maintaining a professional presence throughout the location.
Conduct regular and random patrols around campus buildings and the perimeter to help to deter unwanted activities and identify potential issues.
Monitor access points and observe activity throughout the location to help to deter unauthorized individuals from entering restricted areas.
Document observations, incidents, and activities in detailed reports as required by site-specific procedures.
Collaborate with local law enforcement and/or emergency services during critical situations as directed by site management.
Assist individuals on the premises by providing directions, answering questions, and offering general support as needed.
Remain alert to surroundings and changing conditions in order to address any security-related concerns at the location.
