Job Description As a Security Officer - Unarmed Patrol Driver in Elk Grove Village, IL , you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries. As an unarmed Patrol Officer with Allied Universal, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, conduct routine vehicle and foot patrols, and stay highly visible to help reduce security-related incidents while delivering standout customer service. This is a driving post requiring a valid driver’s license, giving you variety across the location as you communicate clearly, document observations, and support a caring, agile team that acts with integrity and delivers through teamwork.

Requirements

  • A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws. Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to tenants, visitors, and staff by following Allied Universal security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Conduct regular and random foot and/or vehicle patrols of building interiors, common areas, parking lots, and perimeter areas to help to deter unauthorized activity and/or policy violations.
  • Respond to incidents, alarms, and service requests in a calm, problem-solving manner, documenting observations and actions taken.
  • Control access as required for the location by monitoring entry points, verifying credentials when applicable, and directing visitors to appropriate destinations.
  • Complete routine security-related reports, shift logs, and incident documentation, and communicate noteworthy activity to site contacts and/or Allied Universal supervision.
