You will complete routine foot and vehicle patrols, monitor access points, respond to alarms and security-related incidents, and provide a visible presence that helps to deter issues. This is a driving post requiring a valid driver’s license, with opportunities to use technology and strong communication to support patients, staff, and visitors.

Requirements

  • A New York State Security Guard License is required.
  • A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • Access control and badge experience is preferred.
  • Alarm panel experience is preferred.
  • Being comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to staff, patients, visitors, and/or vendors by following Allied Universal post orders, security-related procedures, and site-specific policies, including emergency response activities when appropriate.
  • Respond to alarms, incidents, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, and notify site leadership and/or emergency services as required.
  • Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of healthcare buildings, corridors, parking areas, and the perimeter; working environments and conditions may vary by location.
  • Monitor access points and help to deter unauthorized entry by checking credentials, directing visitors, and reporting suspicious activity according to policy.
  • Complete security-related reports such as incident reports, patrol logs, and shift activity documentation, and communicate important updates during shift transitions.
