About The Position

As a Security Officer - Unarmed Patrol Driver Rounds in Paramus, NJ, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Retail/Malls, and more. As an unarmed Patrol Officer at a busy retail mall location, you will conduct routine patrols, stay visible to help reduce security-related incidents, and support guests and tenants with clear communication and strong customer service. This is a driving post requiring a valid driver’s license, and you will use Allied Universal’s agile, reliable, and innovative approach to deliver through teamwork, act with integrity, and put people first.

Requirements

  • Security experience of 1+ years is required.
  • Be at least 21+ years of age.
  • A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • Guard card/license is preferred.
  • Comfortable using computer or tablet is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to tenants, shoppers, and visitors by following Allied Universal security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Conduct regular and random foot patrols throughout common areas, parking lots, corridors, and perimeter areas to help to deter unwanted activity and identify maintenance or access concerns.
  • Respond to incidents, medical situations, and critical events in a calm, problem-solving manner, requesting assistance from on-site management and/or public responders as needed.
  • Monitor access points and service areas, verify authorized entry for deliveries and vendors, and report suspicious behavior and/or policy violations according to post orders.
  • Complete detailed activity logs and incident reports, preserve observations and available information, and communicate updates to site leadership and Allied Universal supervision.
