Job Description As a Security Officer - Patrol Driver in Roanoke, VA , you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Retail/Malls, and more. As an unarmed Patrol Officer at a busy retail location, you will make regular rounds, stay highly visible, and help to identify and report security-related concerns while supporting a welcoming customer experience. This is a driving post, so you will use a company vehicle to cover assigned areas and respond to calls for service. You will bring integrity, teamwork, and a caring, agile approach to every interaction.

Requirements

• Be at least 21 years of age.
• A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
• A guard card/license is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to clients and store associates by following security-related procedures, location-specific policies, and/or emergency response activities as needed.
• Conduct regular and random patrols throughout retail sales floors, entrances, loading areas, and exterior perimeter to help to deter theft, vandalism, and/or other unwanted activity.
• Monitor for suspicious behavior and policy violations, provide visible presence, and communicate observations to site leadership and/or Allied Universal supervision.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including assisting with de-escalation and coordinating with law enforcement and/or emergency services when directed.
• Complete reports and required documentation for incidents, patrols, and daily activities, and support access control and/or crowd management during peak shopping periods.
