As a Security Officer - Unarmed - Medical Center in Chicago, IL, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Logistics & Distribution, and more. As an unarmed Patrol Officer with Allied Universal at a logistics and distribution location, you will monitor assigned areas, conduct routine patrols, and stay highly visible to help reduce security-related incidents. You will support shipping and receiving activity, respond to alarms and service calls, and document observations with clear communication and customer service. This is a driving post requiring a valid driver’s license in line with AU Driver Policy Requirements.
Requirements
- A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
Responsibilities
- Provide customer service to clients and visitors by following Allied Universal security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and/or emergency response protocols as needed.
- Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols throughout warehouse, loading dock, and perimeter areas, helping to deter unauthorized access, theft, and/or property damage.
- Monitor access points, gates, and delivery areas; verify credentials, check-in drivers and/or contractors, and maintain visitor and vehicle logs per site requirements.
- Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including alarms, suspicious activity, medical calls for service, and/or traffic concerns in delivery lanes.
- Complete detailed reports and shift documentation, communicate observations to site leadership and/or local authorities when directed, and support investigations by preserving scene details and information.
