About The Position

As a Security Officer Unarmed Grounds Patrol in Brooklyn, NY, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Education, and more. Join Allied Universal as an Unarmed Patrol Officer in an education location, where you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, support a welcoming environment, and help to deter security-related incidents through a visible presence. You will conduct routine patrols, assist students, staff, and visitors with professionalism, and bring agile service, reliability, innovation, teamwork, and integrity to every shift.

Requirements

• Be at least 21 years of age.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to students, faculty, staff, and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, location-specific policies, and/or appropriate emergency response activities across the campus environment.
• Respond to incidents, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, documenting observations and communicating with site contacts and/or first responders as needed.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of academic buildings, residence areas, parking lots, walkways, and perimeter locations to help to deter unauthorized activity and/or identify unusual conditions.
• Monitor access points and campus activity, verify authorized entry when required, and report suspicious behavior, maintenance concerns, and/or policy violations to the appropriate personnel.
• Support daily operations during classes, events, and high-traffic periods by providing directions, assisting with crowd management, and following post orders and Allied Universal protocols.
