Job Description As a Security Officer Grounds Patrol in Trenton, NJ , you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Retail/Malls, and more. Join Allied Universal as an unarmed patrol professional in a busy retail location, where you will conduct routine patrols, maintain a visible presence to help discourage security-related incidents, and support guests and staff with outstanding service and communication. In this role, you will bring agility, reliability, and innovation to each shift while working as part of a caring team that puts people first and acts with integrity.

Requirements

At least 2 years of security-related experience is required.
Be at least 21 years of age.
Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

CPR and/or First Aid certification is preferred.
Customer service experience is preferred.
Alarm panel experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

Provide customer service to visitors, customers, and store personnel by carrying out security-related procedures, location-specific policies, and/or emergency response activities when appropriate.
Respond to incidents, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, and communicate relevant information to site contacts and/or emergency services as needed.
Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the retail location, sales floor, entrances, exits, parking areas, and perimeter to help to deter unwanted activity and report unusual conditions.
Monitor for suspicious behavior, policy violations, and/or potential hazards such as spills, unsecured doors, or unattended items, and document observations according to site procedures.
Assist with access control, crowd management, and/or de-escalation during busy periods, special events, and high-traffic times while maintaining a professional presence.
