Security Officer - Unarmed Foot Patrol
About The Position
As a Security Officer - Unarmed Foot Patrol in Leesburg, VA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries. As an Unarmed Patrol Officer with Allied Universal at a high-tech data center location, you will monitor assigned areas and conduct routine foot patrols to help identify and report security-related concerns. You will remain visible, control access points as directed, and assist employees and visitors with a customer-first approach. Requirements
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
Nice To Haves
- A guard card/license is preferred.
- Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
- Customer service experience is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Provide customer service to site personnel and visitors by following Allied Universal and site-specific procedures, access requirements, and/or emergency response activities.
- Respond to alarms, incidents, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner; document actions taken and notify site contacts and/or dispatch as required.
- Conduct regular and random foot and/or vehicle patrols of buildings, data halls, loading areas, parking areas, and perimeter fencing to help to deter unauthorized activity and identify security-related concerns.
- Monitor and operate security-related systems such as CCTV, access control, and intrusion detection; report malfunctions and escalate issues per site protocol.
- Complete security-related logs, incident reports, and shift turnover notes; maintain clear communication with site staff, contractors, and/or responding authorities.
