About The Position

As a Security Officer - Unarmed Driver Rounds in Sterling, VA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Tech/Media/Telecom, and more. Join Allied Universal at a leading tech and data center location as an unarmed, driving patrol officer. You will conduct routine patrols of assigned areas, stay highly visible to help reduce security-related incidents, and support access points while providing helpful customer service and clear communication. Requirements

  • A valid driver’s license is required in the state where the job is located.
  • A Guard Card and/or license is preferred.
  • Being comfortable using a computer and/or tablet is preferred.
  • Access control and/or badge experience is preferred.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to personnel and visitors by carrying out site-specific security-related procedures, access control processes, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including documenting details and communicating updates to site leadership and/or Allied Universal management.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of buildings, data hall exteriors, parking areas, loading docks, and perimeter routes to help to deter unauthorized activity and/or policy violations.
  • Monitor alarms, cameras, and other monitoring systems where assigned, and initiate appropriate notifications and response steps based on site procedures.
  • Complete routine reports, incident logs, and shift handoffs using required tools and/or platforms, while maintaining professional interaction in a high-tech location.
