About The Position

As a Security Officer - Unarmed Data Center Rover in Columbus, OH, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Tech/Media/Telecom, and more. As an Unarmed Patrol Officer at a leading tech and media location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, conduct routine rounds, and stay highly visible to help reduce security-related incidents. You will communicate clearly with staff and visitors, document observations, and respond to concerns with a customer-first approach. Requirements

  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to clients by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and/or emergency response activities appropriate to a tech, media, and/or telecom location.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of interior areas, exterior grounds, and perimeter points to help to deter unauthorized activity and/or potential hazards; working conditions may vary by site.
  • Monitor access points and visitor activity, assist with entry and exit protocols, and report irregularities according to post orders.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including communicating with site contacts and/or public responders as directed.
  • Complete timely documentation such as shift activity logs, incident reports, and patrol observations, and communicate updates during shift turnover.
