Security Officer - Unarmed Access Control
About The Position
As a Security Officer - Unarmed Access Control in Butner, NC, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Logistics & Distribution, and more. Join Allied Universal as an unarmed patrol officer supporting a fast-paced logistics and distribution location. You will monitor and patrol assigned areas, complete routine rounds, remain highly visible to help to deter security-related incidents, and communicate clearly with employees and visitors. You will use teamwork and integrity to respond to concerns, document activity, and deliver a welcoming customer experience in a culture that is agile, reliable, innovative, and people first.
Requirements
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
Nice To Haves
- Being comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
- Having customer service experience is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Provide customer service to site personnel and visitors by following Allied Universal security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a logistics and distribution location.
- Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of the facility, including building interior, perimeter, parking areas, loading docks, and trailer yards to help to deter unwanted activity and/or policy violations.
- Control access at entry points by verifying identification and/or authorizations, supporting visitor and vendor check-in processes, and directing drivers to designated areas in accordance with site procedures.
- Monitor alarms, cameras, and other security-related systems as assigned, and report unusual conditions, maintenance concerns, and/or operational issues through the established channels.
- Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, provide detailed written reports, and cooperate with site management and/or responding public services as needed.
