Join Allied Universal at a busy government transportation waterfront location, where you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, conduct routine rounds, and maintain a visible presence that helps to deter security-related incidents. You will support ferry operations by communicating clearly with staff and visitors, responding to concerns, and documenting activity. Requirements

  • Have 1+ years of security-related experience.
  • Possess a TSA issued TWIC.
  • Possess a guard card/license preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to visitors, passengers, and staff by following Allied Universal security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of passenger areas, terminal facilities, docks, gangways, and surrounding perimeter to help to deter prohibited activity and identify unusual conditions.
  • Control access to restricted areas by monitoring entry points, checking credentials as directed, and verifying delivery and contractor sign-in and/or documentation.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including assisting with crowd direction and coordinating notifications to site contacts and public agencies as required.
  • Document observations, incidents, and patrol activity using written reports and electronic systems, and communicate key information during shift turnovers.
