As an Unarmed Patrol Officer at a shelter location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, conduct routine rounds, and maintain a visible presence that helps to deter security-related incidents. You will greet guests and staff with professionalism, respond to concerns, and document and report observations with clear communication. Requirements
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
Responsibilities
- Provide customer service to residents, staff, and visitors by following Allied Universal security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
- Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of the shelter interior, exterior, and perimeter to help to deter unwanted activity and/or policy violations; working environments and conditions may vary by location.
- Monitor access points and assist with visitor check-in, direction giving, and general information while supporting location rules and expectations.
- Respond to incidents, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including contacting on-site personnel and/or local emergency services as needed.
- Document observations, patrol activities, incidents, and maintenance concerns in written reports and/or electronic logs, and communicate relevant updates during shift turnover.
