As an unarmed Patrol Officer at a shelter location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, conduct routine rounds, stay visible to help to deter security-related incidents, and support staff, residents, and visitors with clear communication and customer service. You will also use a computer or tablet as needed to document activities and share updates. Requirements
- Have 1+ years of security experience.
- Be comfortable using a computer or tablet preferred.
- Have customer service experience preferred.
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities
- Provide customer service to residents, visitors, and staff by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
- Conduct regular and random foot patrols throughout the shelter location, including common areas, corridors, entrances, and exterior perimeter, watching for unusual activity and conditions that may help to deter incidents.
- Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following post orders and notifying site leadership and/or emergency services as needed.
- Control access at assigned entry points by monitoring authorized entry, verifying identification and/or visitor logs per site policy, and directing individuals to appropriate areas.
- Document patrols, incidents, and observations in written reports and log entries, and communicate relevant information to the Allied Universal supervisor and/or site contacts.
