About The Position

As a Security Officer - State Office Patrol in Columbus, OH, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. As an unarmed patrol officer at a government airport location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, conduct routine rounds, stay highly visible to help to deter security-related incidents, and support access control and badge checks as needed. You will communicate clearly, assist staff and visitors, and document activity using a computer and/or tablet. Requirements

  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • Access control and/or badge experience is preferred.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to visitors, employees, contractors, and/or tenants by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a government location.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of terminal areas, parking facilities, access roads, and the exterior perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and identify potential concerns.
  • Monitor access points and restricted areas by observing pedestrian and vehicle traffic, verifying identification and/or credentials as required, and directing individuals to the appropriate check-in or contact point.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including providing assistance with disturbances, medical calls, alarms, and/or other service requests, and escalating to the appropriate authorities when needed.
  • Complete routine reports and incident documentation, communicate status updates to site leadership and/or Allied Universal supervision, and support security-related operations such as key control, lost and found intake, and/or visitor management.
