Security Officer - Site Patrol
About The Position
As a Security Officer - Site Patrol in Fredericksburg, VA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Healthcare, and more. As an Unarmed Patrol Officer in a healthcare location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, complete routine rounds, and stay visible to help discourage security-related incidents. You will support staff, patients, and visitors with courteous communication, document activity, and use site systems as needed. Requirements
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

- Ability to lift more than 20 lbs is preferred.
- Being comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Provide customer service to patients, visitors, and staff by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities within a healthcare location.
- Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including assisting with de-escalation and coordinating with clinical staff and/or local responders as directed.
- Conduct regular and random patrols of hospital buildings, entrances, parking areas, and the perimeter to help to deter unwanted activity and identify hazards or unusual conditions.
- Monitor access points and interior areas, verify authorization when required, and assist with visitor management and/or wayfinding while maintaining a professional presence.
- Document security-related activities, incidents, and observations in reports and logs, and communicate pertinent information to Allied Universal leadership and site contacts.
