As an Unarmed Patrol Officer at a shelter location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, remain visible to help discourage security-related incidents, and support residents, staff, and visitors with outstanding customer service and communication. Requirements
- Customer service experience is preferred.
- Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
- A state, county, or city issued security license is preferred.
- Ability to lift up to 20 lbs is preferred.
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
Responsibilities
- Provide customer service by carrying out site-specific procedures, following location policies, and/or supporting emergency response activities when appropriate.
- Respond to incidents, resident concerns, and critical situations in a calm, professional, and problem-solving manner.
- Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the location, including common areas, entrances, exits, and perimeter areas, while reporting unusual activity and/or potential concerns.
- Monitor access to the location and help to deter unauthorized entry, disruptions, and/or prohibited activity through visible presence and routine observation.
- Document incidents, interactions, and security-related activities according to site procedures, and communicate relevant information to supervisors and/or location staff as needed.
