As an unarmed Patrol Officer in a retail and mall location, you will complete visible patrols, conduct routine checks, and respond to security-related concerns while delivering customer service through clear communication. This is a driving post, using a company or assigned vehicle to cover larger areas and support the team. Requirements

  • A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • A state, county, or city issued security license is preferred.
  • A guard card or license is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to clients and shoppers by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and/or emergency response activities as needed.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of the retail sales floor, entrances and exits, stock areas, and perimeter including parking areas, with working conditions that may vary by location.
  • Monitor for unusual activity and policy violations, helping to deter theft, trespassing, and/or disorderly conduct through high-visibility presence and professional communication.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including de-escalation, coordinating with site management, and contacting emergency services when appropriate.
  • Document observations, incidents, and patrol activities in required reports and/or logs, and communicate relevant information to Allied Universal supervision and site leadership.
