About The Position

As a Security Officer - Shelter Front Desk in Asbury Park, NJ , you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Shelter, and more. Requirements

  • Have 6+ months of Security Experience ‐ 6+ Months.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service at the front desk by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies and when appropriate, emergency response activities within a shelter location.
  • Control access to the facility by checking in residents, visitors, vendors and/or staff, verifying identification as required, issuing temporary badges or passes and directing individuals to appropriate areas.
  • Monitor cameras, alarms, phones and/or radios from the front desk, document activities in daily logs and report unusual activity, maintenance concerns and/or policy violations to site leadership.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including de-escalating conflicts, assisting with disorderly conduct issues and coordinating requests for medical or law enforcement assistance as needed.
  • Maintain confidentiality and professionalism while supporting resident services, including relaying messages, monitoring lobby traffic, managing lost and found and supporting orderly movement through common areas.
