Learn more: aus.com/earnmore. As a Screener at a women's shelter location, you will play a key role in helping to maintain a welcoming and secure environment. Your responsibilities include monitoring entrances, conducting security-related screening procedures, and providing outstanding customer service to all visitors and residents. By remaining visible and attentive, you will help to deter incidents and support a positive atmosphere in line with Allied Universal's values of teamwork, integrity, and putting people first.

Requirements

Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
X ray screening experience is preferred.
Customer service experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

Greet and screen individuals entering the shelter location, following site-specific policies and procedures.
Help to deter prohibited items or unauthorized persons from entering the premises through attentive screening processes.
Provide customer service to clients by carrying out security-related procedures and responding to inquiries in a professional manner.
Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, escalating as appropriate.
Conduct regular and random patrols around the shelter building and perimeter to help to deter unwanted activity and/or hazards.
Document and report security-related incidents, observations, and activities according to Allied Universal protocols.
Assist with emergency response activities as needed, following established guidelines for the location.
Maintain a visible presence to help to deter disruptive behavior and provide reassurance to clients and staff at the shelter.
