As an Access Control Officer with Allied Universal at a women's shelter location, you will help to deter security incidents by monitoring entrances, checking credentials, and conducting routine patrols of the facility. You will play a key role in maintaining a welcoming atmosphere for residents and visitors, while providing exceptional customer service and clear communication. Requirements

At least 6 months of security-related experience is required.
Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
Customer service experience is preferred.
X-ray screening experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

Provide customer service to clients and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures and following site-specific policies, including emergency response activities when appropriate.
Monitor and control access to the shelter location, verifying identification and authorizations as required.
Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established protocols.
Conduct regular and random patrols of the shelter and its perimeter to help to deter unauthorized access and observe for unusual activity.
Document and report any security-related incidents, concerns, or maintenance needs to appropriate shelter personnel and Allied Universal management.
Assist shelter staff and residents with security-related inquiries and support as needed.
Maintain a visible presence to help to deter unwanted activity and provide reassurance to residents and staff at the location.
