As a Screener with Allied Universal at a controlled-access facility, you will greet staff and visitors, verify identification, support entry screening procedures, and help maintain orderly access points. You will monitor activity, document incidents, communicate clearly with site personnel, and assist with routine patrols and visible presence to help reduce security-related issues. Requirements

  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • A guard card/license is preferred.
  • Ability to lift up to 20 lbs is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to clients and visitors by following security-related procedures, site-specific policies and/or emergency response activities.
  • Screen employees, visitors and vendors at entry points using approved screening methods and equipment, and help to identify prohibited items and/or unauthorized access attempts.
  • Verify identification and access authorization, issue visitor instructions as directed by post orders, and document entry and exit activity per site requirements.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, and notify site leadership and/or public responders as needed.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols around the facility and perimeter, monitoring for irregular conditions and reporting concerns according to post orders.
