As a Security Officer Security Screener in Ladson, SC, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Logistics & Distribution, and more. Join Allied Universal as a Screener at a busy logistics and distribution location, where you will help monitor entry points, screen visitors and/or team members, and support badge and access activities. In this role, you will remain visible, perform routine patrols, and provide strong customer service and communication. As part of a caring, agile, reliable, and innovative team, you will help support daily operations with professionalism and integrity.

Requirements

  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.

Nice To Haves

  • Being comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • Access control and badge experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to employees, visitors, and drivers by carrying out site-specific screening procedures, access protocols, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a logistics and distribution location.
  • Screen individuals, packages, and/or personal belongings entering or leaving the location in accordance with post orders, site policies, and applicable security-related procedures.
  • Respond to incidents, alarms, and unusual activity in a calm, problem-solving manner, documenting observations and reporting concerns to site leadership and/or Allied Universal management.
  • Monitor entry and exit points, verify credentials, and help to deter unauthorized access, theft, and/or policy violations involving freight, equipment, and restricted areas.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols around the business and perimeter, remaining alert to operational issues, damaged property, and/or suspicious activity within loading, dock, and warehouse areas.
