Job Description As a Security Officer Screening Associate in Somerset, NJ , you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries. Join Allied Universal as a Screener at a fast-paced logistics location, where you will help support screening procedures, monitor access points, and provide professional customer service and communication. In this role, you will remain visible to help deter security-related incidents while working with a team that values agility, reliability, innovation, and integrity, all within a caring culture that puts people first.

Requirements

  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service by carrying out site-specific screening procedures, access protocols, and/or emergency response activities as appropriate for the location.
  • Screen employees, visitors, drivers, and/or vendors entering or exiting the location, including verifying credentials, checking authorized access, and documenting screening-related activity.
  • Respond to incidents, alarms, and/or unusual situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, and report concerns to site contacts and Allied Universal leadership.
  • Monitor entry points, inspect packages or personal items when required by site policy, and help to deter unauthorized access or prohibited items from entering the location.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols around assigned areas and the perimeter, with work environments and conditions varying by location.
