As an Unarmed Patrol Officer at an education location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, conduct routine patrols, and remain visible to help to deter security-related incidents. You will document observations, respond to questions and/or concerns, and communicate clearly with staff, students, and visitors while supporting a welcoming environment. Requirements

  • Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to students, staff, and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at an education location.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including contacting school administrators and/or local responders per post orders.
  • Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of buildings, classrooms, common areas, parking lots, and perimeter grounds to help to deter unwanted activity.
  • Monitor access points during patrols by checking doors and gates for proper closure, observing visitor flow, and reporting unauthorized access concerns through the established chain of command.
  • Complete accurate patrol and incident documentation, including written reports and shift activity logs, and communicate noteworthy conditions to oncoming personnel and/or site leadership.
