As a Patrol Unarmed Officer at an educational location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas to help to deter security-related incidents and foster a welcoming environment. You will conduct routine patrols, remain visible, and provide exceptional customer service and communication. Requirements

  • At least 2 years of law enforcement, military police, or corrections experience is required.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • A guard card or license is preferred.
  • Experience with access control or badge systems is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to clients, faculty, staff, students, and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures and site-specific policies in an educational environment.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established protocols for educational locations.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols throughout buildings, common areas, and the perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and support a secure atmosphere.
  • Observe and report any unusual activity, security-related hazards, or maintenance issues encountered during patrols.
  • Assist with access control by monitoring entrances and exits and verifying credentials as needed.
  • Support emergency response activities, including guiding occupants during evacuations and/or lockdowns as directed by site procedures.
  • Maintain detailed and accurate records of incidents, patrols, and daily activities in accordance with Allied Universal and client requirements.
  • Collaborate with on-site staff, law enforcement, and/or emergency responders as necessary to address security-related concerns.
