As an Unarmed Patrol Security Officer with Allied Universal at an educational location, you will conduct routine foot and/or vehicle patrols, remain highly visible to help discourage security-related incidents, assist students, staff, and visitors with courteous service, and communicate concerns promptly. Requirements

  • Have at least 6 months of security-related experience.
  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
  • Be comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to students, faculty, staff, and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including documenting actions taken and notifying appropriate campus contacts and/or Allied Universal leadership.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of campus buildings, parking areas, and perimeter locations to help to deter unauthorized activity and/or policy violations. Working environments and conditions may vary by location.
  • Monitor access points and observe for unusual conditions such as unsecured doors, suspicious behavior, and/or disturbances, and take appropriate action consistent with site instructions.
  • Complete routine reports such as daily activity logs, incident reports, and patrol documentation, and communicate relevant information during shift transitions.
