Job Description As a Security Officer - School Grounds Patrol in Columbus, OH , you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Chemical/Petrochemical, and more. Join Allied Universal as an unarmed patrol officer at a chemical and petrochemical location, where you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, conduct routine rounds, and remain highly visible to help to deter security-related incidents. You will document observations, communicate clearly with site teams, and deliver customer service with professionalism. Requirements
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws. Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
Responsibilities
- Provide customer service to clients by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a chemical and/or petrochemical location.
- Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of production areas, tank farms, loading and unloading areas, administrative buildings, and perimeter fencing; working environments and conditions may vary by site.
- Monitor access points and vehicle traffic as assigned, verify identification and/or authorizations, and help to deter unauthorized entry and restricted-area access.
- Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including reporting hazards, spills, unusual odors, alarms, and/or suspicious activity to site contacts and Allied Universal leadership.
- Complete detailed shift reports, patrol logs, and incident documentation, and communicate observations and/or maintenance concerns to appropriate personnel.
