As an unarmed Patrol Officer at a school location, you will monitor and patrol campus areas, stay highly visible to help deter security-related concerns, and support students, staff, and visitors with professional customer service. You will conduct routine rounds, report unusual activity, and communicate clearly with site leaders while responding to incidents. Requirements

  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to students, staff, and visitors by following Allied Universal security-related procedures, location-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Respond to incidents, student or visitor concerns, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, requesting assistance from site leadership and/or emergency services as needed.
  • Conduct regular and random foot patrols of campus buildings, common areas, parking areas, and the perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and/or policy violations.
  • Monitor access points during patrols, observe visitor sign-in activity when assigned, and report unsecured doors, unusual conditions, and/or maintenance issues through proper channels.
  • Document patrols, observations, and incident response actions in written reports and/or electronic systems, and communicate relevant updates to supervisors and site contacts.
