As an Unarmed Patrol Officer in a healthcare location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, conduct routine rounds, and stay visible to help to deter security-related incidents. You will support patients, visitors, and staff with clear communication, quick assistance, and a calm presence while documenting activity using site tools. Requirements

  • Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to patients, visitors, and staff by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities within a healthcare location.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including reports of suspicious activity, disturbances, and medical or facility-related emergencies as directed by post orders.
  • Conduct regular and random foot patrols throughout interior areas, exterior grounds, parking areas, and the perimeter to help to deter unwanted activity and identify conditions that may require attention.
  • Control access at designated entrances and restricted areas by monitoring authorized entry, checking identification when required, and directing individuals to appropriate departments and/or contacts.
  • Monitor alarms, cameras, and other security-related systems when assigned, and communicate observed issues to site leadership and/or Allied Universal supervision.
  • Document incidents, patrol observations, and activities in written logs and reports, and notify appropriate personnel of noteworthy events in a timely manner.
  • Provide assistance with de-escalation and conflict management, using professional communication and summoning additional resources when needed.
  • Support facility operations by providing directions and information, assisting with lost and found items, and coordinating with clinical staff, maintenance, and local emergency services as required.
