As an unarmed Patrol Officer in a government location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, conduct routine rounds, and stay highly visible to help to deter security-related incidents. You will document observations, communicate clearly with staff and visitors, and respond to concerns with a calm, service-focused approach. Requirements

Possess a New York State Security Guard License.
Have at least 1 year of security-related experience.
Provide proof of a high school diploma or GED as required by the client.
Be at least 21 years of age.
Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

Provide customer service at a government office location by following Allied Universal security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including de-escalating disruptive behavior and notifying site management and/or public emergency services as needed.
Conduct regular and random patrols of interior areas, exterior grounds, entrances, stairwells, and perimeter points to help to deter unauthorized activity and identify unusual conditions.
Control access by monitoring doors and common areas, verifying visitor authorization when required, and directing visitors to appropriate service areas while maintaining orderly traffic flow.
Complete shift logs, incident reports, and other required documentation, and communicate observations and follow-up needs to oncoming officers and/or supervisors.
