As an unarmed Patrol Officer in a government location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, conduct routine rounds, and stay highly visible to help to deter security-related incidents. You will document observations, communicate clearly with staff and visitors, and respond to concerns with a calm, service-focused approach. Requirements

  • Possess a New York State Security Guard License.
  • Have at least 1 year of security-related experience.
  • Provide proof of a high school diploma or GED as required by the client.
  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service at a government office location by following Allied Universal security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including de-escalating disruptive behavior and notifying site management and/or public emergency services as needed.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of interior areas, exterior grounds, entrances, stairwells, and perimeter points to help to deter unauthorized activity and identify unusual conditions.
  • Control access by monitoring doors and common areas, verifying visitor authorization when required, and directing visitors to appropriate service areas while maintaining orderly traffic flow.
  • Complete shift logs, incident reports, and other required documentation, and communicate observations and follow-up needs to oncoming officers and/or supervisors.
