As an unarmed Patrol Officer at a retail mall location, you will monitor and patrol common areas, conduct routine rounds, and stay highly visible to help to deter security-related incidents. You will support access control, assist shoppers and tenants with a customer-first approach, and document activity using a computer and/or tablet. Requirements

Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.

As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

CPR certification preferred and may be completed post hire.
Guard card and/or license preferred.
Access control and/or badge experience preferred.
Comfortable using computer or tablet preferred.
Customer service experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Provide customer service to guests, tenants, and/or employees while carrying out Allied Universal security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities within a retail mall location.
Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including assisting with medical calls, disputes, lost children, and/or disruptive behavior, and notifying site leadership and public responders as needed.
Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of common areas, storefront corridors, loading areas, and perimeter zones to help to deter theft, vandalism, and/or unauthorized activity.
Monitor and report suspicious activity, policy violations, and/or maintenance hazards, and document observations in shift logs and incident reports.
Assist with access control at designated entrances, service corridors, and/or back-of-house areas by verifying credentials, directing visitors, and following visitor management procedures.
Support tenant and property management requests such as providing escorts, responding to door alarms, and/or helping coordinate closing and opening procedures.
Operate and observe surveillance cameras and/or alarm monitoring systems when assigned, and communicate findings to site leadership.
Enforce site rules and post orders in a professional manner, including addressing loitering, trespassing, and/or prohibited conduct and requesting compliance.
Communicate clearly with property staff, retail tenants, and/or other Allied Universal team members via radio, phone, and written reports to support coordinated response.
