About The Position

As a Security Officer - Retail Unarmed Driver in San Jose, CA , you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Retail/Malls, and more. As an unarmed patrol officer with Allied Universal at a bustling retail location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, maintaining a visible presence to help deter security-related incidents and provide reassurance to guests and tenants. This is a driving post, where you will interact with the public, deliver exceptional customer service, and uphold our values of teamwork, integrity, and putting people first while supporting a welcoming environment for all.

Requirements

A valid driver’s license is required in the state where the job is located.
Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

Customer service experience is preferred.
Ability to lift up to 20 pounds is preferred.
A guard card or license is preferred.

Responsibilities

Provide customer service to clients and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies and/or emergency response activities as needed.
Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner to support a secure environment.
Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the retail location and its perimeter to help to deter unwanted activity and identify potential concerns.
Observe and report any suspicious activity, hazards or maintenance needs encountered during patrols.
Assist with access control and enforce site policies in accordance with client and Allied Universal guidelines.
Support emergency response efforts and assist first responders as required.
Communicate clearly and professionally with clients, visitors and Allied Universal management regarding incidents and daily activities.
