Job Description As a Security Officer - Retail Store Patrols in Syracuse, NY , you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Retail/Malls, and more. As a Patrol Unarmed Officer with Allied Universal, you will monitor and patrol retail and mall locations, helping to deter security-related incidents while creating a welcoming atmosphere for guests and staff. You will conduct routine patrols, remain visible, and provide outstanding customer service. This is a driving post, so a valid driver's license is required. Requirements

A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
State, county, or city issued security license is preferred.
Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

Provide customer service to clients and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures and site-specific policies, as well as responding to emergency situations when appropriate.
Respond to incidents and critical situations within the retail or mall location in a calm and problem-solving manner.
Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the retail or mall environment and its perimeter to help to deter unwanted activity and promote a secure atmosphere.
Observe and report any unusual activity, hazards, or property damage encountered during patrols.
Assist with access control by monitoring entrances, exits, and restricted areas within the location.
Document all incidents and security-related activities according to Allied Universal procedures.
Communicate and cooperate with local law enforcement and/or emergency responders as needed.
Provide assistance and directions to visitors, tenants, and/or employees within the location as requested.
