Job Description As a Security Officer - Retail Patrol in Lynchburg, VA , you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Retail/Malls, and more. As a Patrol Unarmed Officer with Allied Universal, you will monitor and patrol retail locations, maintaining a visible presence to help deter security-related incidents. You will interact with the public, provide exceptional customer service, and respond to situations as needed. This position is a driving post, requiring you to move throughout the property and uphold our values of teamwork, integrity, and putting people first while supporting a welcoming environment.

Requirements

• A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to clients by following security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and responding to emergency situations as needed.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner to help maintain order within the location.
• Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the retail environment and around the perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity.
• Observe and report any suspicious behavior, hazards, or incidents encountered during patrols within the retail or mall setting.
• Collaborate with store and Allied Universal personnel to address security-related concerns and support a welcoming environment for visitors and staff.
• Assist with access control by monitoring entrances and exits, helping to deter unauthorized entry or exit.
• Complete detailed and accurate reports on incidents, observations, and activities during each shift as required by Allied Universal protocols.
