Security Officer - Retail Patrol
About The Position
As a Security Officer - Retail Patrol in New York, NY, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Retail/Malls, and more. Requirements
- Possess a New York State Security Guard License.
- Have at least 1 year of security-related experience.
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
Nice To Haves
- CPR certification is preferred.
- Be comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
- Customer service experience is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Provide customer service to visitors, tenants, and/or staff by carrying out site-specific procedures, access-related protocols, and when appropriate, emergency response activities within a retail location.
- Respond to incidents, disturbances, and/or critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, documenting observations and reporting concerns to site leadership as needed.
- Conduct regular and random patrols throughout storefront areas, common spaces, entrances, exits, loading areas, and the exterior perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and identify security-related concerns.
- Monitor foot traffic, assist with directional guidance, and observe for suspicious behavior, policy violations, and/or potential hazards while maintaining a professional presence.
- Support assigned post duties in varied indoor and outdoor conditions, communicating clearly with management, emergency responders, and/or Allied Universal personnel regarding incidents and daily activity.
